Design Thinking Skills: User-Centered Problem Solving

About this Course

This course introduces participants to design thinking as a practical, user-centered approach to solving real-world problems. It focuses on understanding user needs before developing solutions and improving ideas through continuous testing and iteration.

Participants learn the key phases of the design thinking process:

  • Empathy – understanding users
  • Define – clearly framing the problem
  • Ideation – generating creative solutions
  • Prototype – building simple models
  • Testing – improving solutions through feedback

The course also develops essential skills such as teamwork, emotional intelligence, user research, and creative thinking. Participants explore methods like interviews, observation, brainstorming, and user journey mapping to better understand problems and design relevant solutions.

By the end of the course, participants are able to approach challenges creatively, work collaboratively, and develop solutions that respond to real user needs.

This course is part of the High-Tech Youth Caravan – FabMobile BiH project, implemented with the support of the BOOST Balkans initiative, coordinated by ALDA Balkans and funded by Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
