The first Maker Faire held in Sarajevo!

This weekend, Sarajevo had the opportunity to host one of the largest events celebrating science, innovation, and creativity - Maker Faire - for the first time. Although this was the first Maker Faire Sarajevo, visitors, as well as all attendees, could see why this event earned the title "the biggest." Among the 85 exhibitors and 160 participants at Maker Faire Sarajevo, engineers, artists, technological centers and laboratories, representatives of Bosnian universities, startups, companies, and many others gathered to showcase their work. The two-day exhibition at Skenderija Square and numerous workshops at the Youth Center were attended by over 13,000 people.

Edu Zone and Company Zone At this interactive fair, visitors could engage in countless activities - try modeling, see the student formula from Mostar, participate in wood processing and product making, step into the virtual world, and many other activities. It was especially pleasing to see students presenting their works and sharing their knowledge in the fields of technology, engineering, art, medicine, pharmacy, architecture, genetics, and bioengineering.

Workshop Zone Maker Faire Sarajevo offered more than 20 workshops for children aged 4 to 18, an escape room, VR, laboratory, and university zones. Creative STEM workshops and the Minecraft Escape room attracted great attention and joy among the youngest visitors. The Youth Center was filled with children who had a great time while learning with the use of state-of-the-art technologies and learning methods characteristic of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education.

Lab and Technological Center Zone Visitors to the fair were also interested in what is being done in technological laboratories and centers, and they gladly attended presentations on 3D printing, additive manufacturing, and transformative technologies. This image particularly pleased the project organizers, who emphasize that this is precisely the aim of the fair - to present science and the world of innovations and creations as they are, interesting and fun, and to make them accessible to everyone.

Arts and Crafts Zone Since the goal of every Maker Faire is to reflect the unique culture and character of its community, through this zone, we managed to include the significance of tradition and present a perfect blend of traditional and modern. Through various types of creative creations, from artworks to various types of handmade crafts that enriched our fair, we pointed out to visitors the importance of creativity and its diverse application.
